There are many gay nude beaches in Lisbon area : two in Sintra (one gay and
one gay friendly) and three in Caparica and Sesimbra areas on the south bank of
Tagus River. The two gay beaches in Sintra are very difficult to access:
you will need to go down the cliff. The biggest problem is that after the
arduous task is accomplished, it really worth it. The Praia da Vigia is located
south of the Praia de São Julião, near Assafora, in Sintra. The air is rich in
iodine and is very quiet for those who wish to, but the rocks located at the
end of the beach, its most southerly point, hide some cruising activities. The
Ursa beach is located near Cabo da Roca, the Westernmost point of Europe and
much visited by tourists. There are signs that indicate the beach location but
pay attention because access is really difficult. It is a small but very
beautiful and not completely gay beach.
The other three beaches, located on the
south bank are the famous Praia 19, Praia da NATO and of course Meco. From all
these, Praia 19 is the most extensive, and the most active: the forest and the
dunes located there provide the largest gay cruising site of all gay beaches in
Portugal. Here the sea is much calmer and the water a little warmer than in
Sintra area. Not as famous as the 19, the Praia da NATO has access from Fonte
da Telha's beach (the 20th Transpraia stop, the train that connects the
beaches of Costa de Caparica) or by the cliff. The easier way it is to walk along
the shore.
The Meco's beach, in the municipality of Sesimbra is the quietest
beach of them all: despite being the most visited by nudists, cruising is
virtually nonexistent (even for the most attentive). The beach is not
completely gay: if the access is made by Meco's beach, you will have to go left
and those who access the beach from Praia das Bicas side, will have to walk a
few (many) meters to the right. The most advisable is the access by the
Meco's beach.

Existem muitas praias de
nudismo gay na área de Lisboa: duas em Sintra (uma gay e outra gay friendly) e
três na zona da Caparica e Sesimbra, na margem sul do Tejo. As duas praias gay
de Sintra são de muito difícil acesso: é necessário descer pela arriba. O maior
problema é que, após concretizada a árdua tarefa, vale realmente a pena. A
Praia da Vigia localiza-se a sul da praia de S. Julião, perto de Assafora, no
concelho de Sintra. O ar é rico em iodo e é muito sossegada para os que o
desejam, mas nas rochas localizadas no final da praia, o seu ponto mais a sul,
existem alguns engates. A praia da Ursa
localiza-se perto do Cabo da Roca, o ponto mais ocidental da europa e muito
visitado por turistas. Existe sinalização no local e o acesso é realmente
difícil. É uma praia pequena mas muito bonita e não completamente gay.
As
outras três praias, localizadas na margem sul são as famosas Praia 19, a Praia
da NATO e claro, o Meco. Destas, a Praia 19 é a mais extensa e a que tem mais
actividade: a mata e as dunas ali localizadas proporcionam o maior local de engate
de todas as praias gay de Portugal. Ali o mar é bastante mais calmo e as águas
um pouco mais quentes do que na zona de Sintra. Não tão famosa como a 19, a
Praia da NATO tem acesso pela praia da Fonte da Telha (a 20.ª da linha do
Transpraia, o comboio que liga as praias da Costa de Caparica) ou pela arriba.
O mais fácil é mesmo caminhar ao longo da costa, pelo areal.
A praia do Meco,
no concelho de Sesimbra, é a praia mais sossegada a todos os níveis: apesar de
ser a mais frequentada por nudistas, os engates são praticamente inexistentes
(até para os mais atentos). A praia não é completamente gay: se o acesso for
feito pela praia do Meco, terá que se deslocar para a esquerda e quem aceder
pela Praia das Bicas, terá que caminhar alguns (bastantes) metros para a
direita. O acesso mais aconselhável é o da praia do Meco.
